Underwater growth of the island of La Palma: the interior of the Caldera de Taburiente

Activity to know “in situ” the rocks formed in the submarine growth of the island of La Palma: the submarine trachytic lobulo-hyaloclastic complex and the pillow lavas and basaltic and trachybasaltic breccias of Barranco de Las Angustias. The main characteristics of the oldest outcropping rocks on the island of La Palma (3.1 and 2.8 M.a., respectively) are to be known in order to interpret the submarine volcanic activity that occurred on the island, when it was still a seamount.
