Topic 9.
Air quality and health
Volcanic eruptions result in the emissions and formation of harmful gases and aerosols that impair air quality and human health. Such impact depends on the concentrations and composition of these species and on the management strategies. This sessions includes topics as:
- Air quality studies during eruption.
- Composition of respirable aerosols or particulate matter.
- Processes affecting the concentrations of trace gases and aerosols.
- Studies on impact on human health during eruptions.
- Experience on air quality management during eruptions.
